At Vazquez, subcontractors are an integral element of the team and each must undergo due diligence protocols before working on any project. Selected project subcontractors receive timely information, modifications, and rapid payments—all of which lead to retention and enduring rapport with Vazquez.

Company History

Vazquez Commercial Contracting LLC was formed in 2008 by the President and owner, Joseph C. Vazquez (CPA). Joe started the business to provide interior finishing, light carpentry, and remodeling services. However, Joe realized that his customers wanted more from their construction company, so he followed the advice of his customers and continued to add additional construction capabilities and hire more people.

The company experienced rapid revenue, customer, and project growth that resulted in the creation of many, new, and sustainable jobs for the region. In 2015, Vazquez purchased the Gillham Office building that now anchors the corporate headquarters and leadership team. Vazquez also opened a Detroit, MI office and added a marine construction division and began hydraulic dredging, waterway and bank stabilization, and a variety of other civil works projects including pier construction, waterline installations, drain repairs, roadways, and locks & dam repairs.

Vazquez added over a hundred new skilled trade jobs, specialty equipment, tools, and a warehouse location between 2016-2018. Vazquez created and launched two, self-performing construction divisions: Mechanical & Electrical (M&E).  In 2023, Vazquez created a Plumbing Division and rounded out the full-service suite of MEP Design-Build services.

In 2020, Vazquez opened a Cincinnati, OH office with additional warehouse space to support the company’s growth into the Ohio River Valley & Great Lakes Region. In 2021, Vazquez expanded to Oak Ridge, TN and then Oklahoma City, OK in 2023. These regional expansion offices complete the company’s general contracting, 5-year, geographic growth plan across the entire midsection of America. This strategic choice also places talented people, equipment, and supplies in areas of vital importance to the company’s federal clients. The additional office placements strengthen organizational command and control, reduce project response times, and creates economies of scale between regional employees, subcontractors, government offices, and the VCC corporate offices.
